The apartment Bec and I originally found fell through – problems with the landlord, who still hasn’t returned the deposit. We think half of it will be repaid eventually. That was understandably frustrating and disappointing, but we managed to find a new place in less than a week! It is the same price, about the same size and not far away. Actually closer to the subway, maybe? Hard to tell. It’s north of the subway rather than south, in a complex called 银铃国际 (yin ling guo ji). The landlady is lovely, too, which is a fantastic thing!
I will be moving house on Saturday afternoon!! Yay!!
I still have a cat in need of a new home – Lanlan is about two years old and very cute. If you or anyone you know would be interested in taking him please let me know ASAP!
I’ve attached pics of the place for those who are interested. It is 200m2, on the second floor, has AC in every room, and in-floor heating. There is a small outdoor balcony on the living room, which is at the back of the complex (no traffic noise, no other apartment buildings outside). There are wood floors thoughout, the bathrooms have pretty tiles, and the spare room (my studio/study and probably many more uses) is HUGE. Some of the furniture will only be there til the end of the year – all the dark wood Chinese style furniture, the pingpong table, and a motorised mahjong table in bec’s room (can’t see it in the photo).
So that’s the scoop for now! 7 full-time work days left… so weird. There’s definitely going to be a lot of adjustments for me over the next 6 months, but I’m excited about it :)
